James Carpenter, CPA

James is a Certified Public Accountant with over a decade of experience in tax, accounting, and financial leadership. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Arizona University.

James began his career in public accounting, where he prepared complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

In addition to his tax practice, James has served as Controller and Chief Financial Officer for nonprofit organizations in Arizona, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and compliance, and advising leadership and boards on financial strategy.

James is committed to public service and serves on boards and committees in a volunteer capacity.

James is based in Sedona, Arizona, and works with individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations to provide practical, thoughtful tax and accounting services.
